Organisers of a four-day charity walk set which is set to bring the industry together in Western Australia has confirmed a raft of speakers for the opening day’s education program, with plans for the social events also revealed.
Cape to Cape for Cannabis is being hosted by Medicinal Cannabis Research Australia (MCRA), with the aim of uniting the industry while raising money for research and the broader education of doctors.

It will take place between April 17 and 21.
MCRE co-founder Sharlene Mavor has described the event as not just a fundraiser, but a “movement”.
Confirmed speakers for the education day on April 17 include Lambert Initiative academic director Professor Iain McGregor, researcher Janet Schloss, Australian Natural Therapeutic Australia chief scientific officer Justin Sinclair, Dr Judith Lacey, Dr Matty Moore, Dr Stephen Chalk and Dr Ganesa Ponraja.
Legalise Cannabis WA MP Dr Brian Walker and former Victoria MP Fiona Patten will also be attendance.
The event will include three days of hiking along the Cape to Cape track, which runs from Cape Naturaliste at the northern end to Cape Leeuwin in the south, with each walk taking around three to four hours.
Accommodation is at the Margarets Beach Resort.
In addition to the opening night party at the Function centre in Margaret River, social events have been planned at winery cellar doors and a beach bar at the hotel, with live music and food.
A range of ticketing options are available, with attendees able to attend the social events without walking, or to walk and buy tickets for individual events.
Earlybird discounts of 15% off four-day tickets are on offer until December 31. However, organisers have urged people to book early.
“Due to a big surfing event nearby on the same weekend, we’ve been told to book rooms ASAP or otherwise risk them not all being held for our event,” they said. “If all our sponsors, VIPs and volunteers book soon, then we will have priority over what we’ve held.”
