The number of SAS-B approvals fell in June from May’s record high, but still hit almost 9,500, latest figures have shown.

The Therapeutic Goods Administration approved 9,461 prescriptions, down from 9,965 the previous month.

It is the third highest monthly figure since medicinal cannabis was legalised – more than doubling last June’s approvals – and brings the total number of approvals in the first half of 2021 to 50,250, a 120% increase on the first six months of 2020.

The number of Authorised Prescribers remained unchanged at 263.
