The health regulator approved 12,508 medicinal cannabis applications in November, the second highest of the year, according to preliminary data.

The number takes the rolling 12-month total to just under 117,000 while calendar year approvals now stand at 111,482.

Oral liquid and flower remained the dominant dosage forms in November

Prescriber numbers in November hit 994, fractionally more than October’s 982.

The figures, taken from the Therapeutic Goods Administration’s dashboard, show the split between oral liquid and flower remained unchanged, with 54.2% and 41.5% respectively.

Schedule 4 approvals totalled almost 1,900, with schedule 8 medicine accounting for more than 10,000.

September’s 13,666 approvals remains the record month, with October falling slightly to 12,265.
