ECS Botanics managing director Nan-Maree Schoerie has acknowledged the launch of a consumer brand was “not taken lightly”, but denied it will cause friction with the firm’s industry customers.

The Victoria-based grower flagged the launch of an in-house brand, called Avani, in January. It will see the company switch from an exclusively B2B strategy to one where it will build a consumer-facing presence with its own-branded products.
