New South Wales hemp industry leaders have argued that an overlap with medicinal cannabis rules and inconsistent regulation between states are holding back the sector’s growth.
The concerns were raised at a senate inquiry into the potential of the sector – seen as a key opportunity for the industry to build support within the federal government – with the Canberra hearing on May 15 following earlier sessions in Tasmania and Melbourne.
