Despite the prevalence of cannabis in the early 1970s music scene, most artists getting involved in the business of weed today hail from more recent times.

But that’s about to change, with 1970s rockers The Allman Brothers Band getting in on the act.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Famers have teamed up with PharmaCann-owned Verilife to launch the ‘Chocolate Chunk’ range of cannabis products.

Verilife chief marketing officer Erika Salgado said: “The Allman Brothers Band pioneered the southern rock sound that is synonymous with cannabis. With this collaboration, our goal is to create products that capture the essence of the band.”

Founder member and drummer Jai Johanny ‘Jaimoe’ Johanson added: “It has been the honour of my life to play in this band and it continues to be an honour to extend our brand in ways my bandmates could never have imagined.

“This collaboration with Verilife is an opportunity to share the Allman Brothers Band experience with fans.”

Launching with flower and pre-rolls in eight Illinois dispensaries, the range will eventually include edibles and vapes.
