Medical practitioners are being invited to an educational webinar to explore medicinal cannabis and its potential impact on what organisers say is the forgotten area of women’s health.
The hour-long session will see one of Australia’s most recognised medicinal cannabis prescribers, Dr Orit Holtzman, explore the current landscape of women’s health, common symptom presentations, and practical considerations when assessing the role of cannabinoids.

The event, designed exclusively for Australian healthcare professionals, has been organised by Medical Cannabis Australia in collaboration with Dr Holtzman and takes place at 7pm Sydney time on July 23.
MCA co-founder Sharon Bentley said the webinar will address an area of healthcare often overlooked.
“Women’s health has too often been under-researched, underfunded and under-discussed, despite the significant impact conditions such as PMS, endometriosis, pelvic pain, perimenopause and menopause can have on daily life and wellbeing,” she said.
“The intersection of women’s health and medicinal cannabis is an emerging area that deserves informed, evidence-based education.
“This webinar aims to support Australian healthcare professionals with practical knowledge, current treatment considerations and a stronger foundation for patient-centred conversations.”
The webinar will cover a range of issues including clinical indications and associated symptoms, the fundamental of medicinal cannabis prescribing and practical considerations.
