The United in Compassion (UIC) annual conference returns in early 2026, with an expanded program featuring high-profile international speakers and discounted tickets for Cannabiz members.

The event, backed by the Australian Medicinal Cannabis Association, will be held at Brisbane’s Royal International Convention Centre from February 26–28.

The program will include a panel of state and federal members of parliament, offering perspectives on the future of the industry and insights into how the sector is viewed from a government standpoint.

MPs from Queensland, South Australia, New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania are expected to attend.

The international speaker line up brings together clinicians, researchers and policy specialists from the US and Israel.

Among them is US physician and Harvard Medical School instructor Dr Peter Grinspoon, a primary care physician and cannabis specialist at Massachusetts General Hospital.

A TEDx speaker, Grinspoon is widely cited as a thought leader on cannabis, drugs of misuse and addiction.

Research expertise is led by Israeli professor Dedi Meiri, who heads the Laboratory of Cancer Biology and Natural Drug Discovery at the Faculty of Biology at the Technion.

His work explores the therapeutic potential of natural compounds – including cannabinoids – across cancer, inflammatory disease and disorders of the nervous system such as epilepsy and Alzheimer’s disease.

Policy perspectives are represented by Dr Jordan Tishler, a cannabinoid specialist physician trained at Harvard Medical School.

Tishler sits on the Massachusetts Cannabis Advisory Council and advises the council for Federal Cannabis Regulation, a background that may resonate as Australia considers potential regulatory reform.

The program also includes cannabinoid researcher Dr Hunter Land, who was involved in research programs leading to the first plant-derived cannabinoid medicine to receive FDA approval, and Dr Dustin Sulak, a US clinician and author of the Handbook of Cannabis for Clinicians: Principles and Practice.

The conference will hear from local industry figures including Dr David Gunn, University of Sydney professor and addiction medicine specialist Nicholas Lintzeris, Easykind’s Gabriel Younes, Unharm founder Dr Will Tregoning and Royal Australian College of General Practitioners chair Tamara Nation.

Cannabiz members can access a 15% discount on standard tickets using the code CANNABIZ2026 while function-only tickets are available with the code CANNABIZFUNC.

Both codes are case sensitive and must be entered capitalised at the time of booking.

Tickets and more information can be accessed here. Ticket sales close on January 31, 2026.
