The cannabis industry has had two leaders named in this year’s Business News Australia Top 100 Young Entrepreneurs list — Josh Fegan from Althea and Alex Keach from ECS Botanics.
Althea CEO and managing director Fegan landed at number 44, with the entry detailing his rise from a career in retail to launching Althea in 2016.
It says: “Josh Fegan’s journey from a career in retailing to creating one of Australia’s largest medicinal cannabis players underscores this young entrepreneur’s strengths in sales, marketing and business building.”
Meanwhile, ECS Botanics managing director Alex Keach is at number 70 on the list.
His entry reads: “The vertically integrated medicinal cannabis company, with agricultural roots in Tasmania, is on the precipice of major growth following an ambitious expansion into Victoria this year and plans to grow its Tasmanian farm by more than 100 times its current area.”
Business News Australia said its Top 100 Young Entrepreneurs list recognises “the cream of the crop” in terms of Australia’s young business talent, who are “all very much ready and rearing to skyrocket off solid foundations built this year for a bumper 2022”.
