The Entourage Effect CEO Lisa Varley has been shortlisted for a prestigious award which recognises the best of Australia’s business executives.
Varley is among 10 finalists named in CEO Magazine’s CEO of the Year award in the healthcare category.
All were shortlisted for their “inspiring efforts” in furthering healthcare in Australia.
Varley, who took over as The Entourage Effect CEO in January, described it as an “honour” to be shortlisted. But she dedicated the achievement to her team and the wider medicinal cannabis industry.
“Such a prestigious nomination is a reflection of the incredible team we’ve built at The Entourage Effect, where none of this would be possible without their hard work and dedication,” she told Cannabiz.
“And beyond our team, this recognition serves as a testament to the entire medicinal cannabis ecosystem, including our trusted suppliers, phenomenal doctors, pharmacists, nurses, and so many more who collaborate daily to reduce stigma, improve patient access, and provide the best care possible to Australian patients.”
Varley said it was important in an evolving industry to “push the boundaries of innovation to support the needs of Australian patients” and to ensure nationwide access to high-quality and effective treatments.
“This recognition not only helps break down the barriers surrounding this treatment alternative, but also underscores its importance as a critical part of the future of healthcare,” she added.
CEO Magazine’s Executive of the Year awards will be held at The Star in Sydney on November 14.
