Last week saw the inaugural Cannabiz Awards for Australia and New Zealand presented before a sold-out audience in Melbourne. Cannabiz co-founder and chief growth officer Martin Lane reflects on what we learned and what we can build on next year.
When we launched the Cannabiz Awards earlier this year, we had no idea they would take off in quite the way they did.

Hi Martin
I feel that Patient Advocate and Industry Innovation are two completely seperate categories from a clinician’s perspective.
Hopefully can attend the awards next year – I give Melbourne a vote too!
Hi Martin,
Thanks for organising an amazing event. Even more amazing when you consider it was the first year of the Cannabiz Awards.
When it comes to award categories I believe that “Cultivator of the Year” and “Manufacturer of the Year” should be two categories. As you would appreciate, not all cultivators are manufacturers and I expect the number of “cultivators only” will grow over the next year or two.
Further, cultivation and manufacture are two distinctly different activities.
Kind regards,
Tracey Perez
