The health regulator has stressed that use of the term ‘plant-based’ on clinic websites breaches advertising regulations and warned that other indirect references to specific medications, including medicinal cannabis, are also likely to break the rules.
In newly published guidance on its website, the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) has also clamped down on health services which provide “eligibility” tests from drop menus, and said pharmacists promoting the availability of specific classes of medication also face regulatory action.
