Another senior director is set to leave Cannatrek with executive general manager Craig Thompson announcing his departure after six years with the business.
Thompson joined Cannatrek in December 2018 as patient access consultant before a five-year spell as head of sales and, latterly, EGM of business development.

Announcing the “closing of a chapter” and “exciting new beginnings”, the highly-regarded Thompson described the past six years as “nothing short of extraordinary”.
“The journey… was filled with growth, challenges (as those in the industry will understand!), and successes that have shaped both my career and who I am today,” he wrote on LinkedIn.
“Reflecting on my time with Cannatrek, I’m incredibly proud of what we accomplished as a team. Starting with [former CEO] Tommy [Huppert] as one of just three in Melbourne, we navigated challenges, celebrated milestones, and achieved successes that stand as a testament to the power of teamwork, dedication, and resilience.”
Thompson gave no indication of his next move, or the reasons for his departure, but offered hints in replies to messages on LinkedIn that he may not be exiting the medicinal cannabis industry.
His exit marks something of the end of an era at Cannatrek. Other long-standing directors, CEO Tommy Huppert and CFO Brett Schwarz, left towards the end of 2024 amid a year of upheaval and unrest at the firm.
Thompson added: “I’m deeply grateful to Cannatrek for the trust and opportunities extended to me over the years.”
“As I step into the next chapter of my career, I leave Cannatrek with immense gratitude, cherished memories, and the belief that amazing things happen when the right people come together with passion and purpose.”
