The vast majority of medicinal cannabis prescribers are “well motivated” and trying to do the right thing, one of Australia’s most experienced doctors in the space has insisted, as he reminded fellow practitioners to protect themselves against regulatory action by conducting thorough patient assessments and making clinical decisions that are beyond reproach.
Dr Laurence Kemp, the former chief medical officer of Cann I Help who recently returned to general practice, said it has only been the behaviour of the few which has tarnished the reputation of the many.

I do feel that medical cannabis prescribers in general go above and beyond the usual in ensuring that their care is of the highest standards. It would be good for us, as specialist practitioners, to reflect into the GP space that fact and raise our profile as excellent practitioners of wellness medicine.
