The New Zealand Medicinal Cannabis Council (NZMCC) has released the agenda for its upcoming Industry Day, which will be held at the Employers and Manufacturers Association (EMA) in Auckland on October 29.
Centred on the theme Connection, the one-day event will bring together clinicians, researchers, cultivators and policymakers to discuss the future of medicinal cannabis in Aotearoa.

Proceedings will open with a Māori welcome ceremony, followed by a leaders’ roundtable exploring the current state of New Zealand’s medicinal cannabis sector.
Government and industry figures will then examine the regulatory framework, roles and responsibilities within the Medicinal Cannabis Agency, and review Australia’s ongoing Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) consultation and its implications for NZ.
The New Zealand Drug Foundation will lead a session on safer drug laws and alternative policy models, while afternoon breakout streams will cater separately to clinical and industry audiences.
NZMCC chair Carmen Doran said this year’s focus on connection reflected the council’s goal of uniting the sector.
“This is a day for open conversation and collaboration,” she said.
“Whether you’re working in cultivation, research, prescribing or policy, the opportunity to connect with others who share a commitment to a sustainable, patient-focused industry is invaluable.”
