Legalise Cannabis South Australia has failed to win a seat in either chamber of parliament at the 2026 state election.

With 43% of the Legislative Council vote counted as of Monday morning, the party held 2.4% of the vote – well short of the 8.3% quota required to win a seat.

In the House of Assembly, the party polled 0.9%, with 98% of booths counted.

The result means the party has no elected representatives in South Australia, with sister parties holding upper house seats in New South Wales, Victoria and Western Australia.

Labor and Premier Peter Malinauskas secured a second term with a significantly increased majority, as One Nation polled more than 21% of the vote – its strongest result at any state or federal election in Australia since the 1998 Queensland poll.
