Some 54% of New Zealanders suffering from Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) would use cannabis to help manage their symptoms if it were legal, according to a survey carried out by University of Otago researchers.
Of those people surveyed who had used cannabis, 74% reported an improvement in quality of life, and 96% said it was effective or very effective in relieving their abdominal pain.
