Following a three-year, seven-figure investment to meet the Therapeutic Goods Administration’s rigorous medical device requirements and secure inclusion on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG), Mood State Medical is now focused on expanding access to its Grenco Medical Elite II vaporiser across Australian pharmacies. Head of business development Tony Bennett outlined the firm’s plans to build on its early sales momentum and expand the device’s presence in the market.
Launched in July, the Elite II is a compact, handheld device designed to vaporise prescribed flower and is now readily available through major medicinal cannabis wholesalers.

Its inclusion on the ARTG in May followed a comprehensive assessment of quality, safety and clinical performance, placing it among a select group of vaporisers included on the register in Australia.
Bennett told Cannabiz the firm believes the Elite II is the most affordable ARTG-included vaporiser available on the domestic market, with its comprehensive testing providing a clear point of difference.
According to Bennett, the devise is $150 cheaper than a comparable ARTG-included vaporiser, giving pharmacies a compelling commercial opportunity to meet growing patient demand for regulated vaporisers.
Early sales build momentum
Bennett said sales since the July launch had tracked in line with forecasts.
“We definitely have good offtake in terms of sales,” he said. “We’re comfortable with where we’re positioned in terms of the sales front.”
The device is available through a number of wholesalers including Montu’s Leafio, Vitura, Cannatrek, Therapeutic Cannabis Vaporizers and Greensaver, while pharmacies can also order directly from Mood State Medical.
“We want to give every pharmacy the flexibility to purchase through the channel that best suits its needs, whether that is through a preferred wholesaler or directly from us, with the same price either way,” Bennett said.
Bennett described feedback since launch as overwhelmingly positive, with customers praising the device’s portability, premium feel and solid construction.
That response was reinforced at the ACannabis Industry Showcase in Melbourne, where Mood State Medical hosted a booth and delegates from across Australia had the opportunity to review the Elite II firsthand.
Bennett said delegates welcomed the arrival of a new ARTG-included vaporiser, with many impressed that an Australian firm had successfully navigated the TGA’s extensive regulatory requirements.

“This allows pharmacies another opportunity to stock a listed device that’s got margins and patient demand, and we’ve got industry growth facts and positive feedback that support all of that,” Bennett said.
He said Mood State Medical offers pharmacies flexible order quantities and volume-based discounts to improve margins, with shipping included in the purchase price.
The firm also provides face-to-face and online training, product education, demonstration and point-of-sale materials, digital assets and a dedicated support line.
With staff based in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, Bennett stressed its ability to provide local assistance across key Australian markets.
Rigorous testing underpins patient safety
Developed jointly with US-based Grenco Medical, the Elite II’s successful path to the ARTG was underpinned by an extensive testing program and a seven-figure investment.
Bennett said the firm engaged accredited laboratories and a world class team to build the robust compliance evidence required for the device’s inclusion on the register.
The stringent assessment and approval process was supported by regulatory approvals, quality systems and recognised product standards (see end of article for details).
Bennett said the extensive testing reflected a clear priority: “Patient safety is at the forefront of what we do.”
Building on the successful rollout
A key part of Mood State Medical’s offering is dedicated, Australian-based support for pharmacies and patients.
The local team provides a readily accessible point of contact for warranty assistance, product education, technical enquiries and customer support, helping pharmacies resolve issues promptly and confidently support patients using the Elite II.
That direct connection also creates a valuable feedback loop. Patient and pharmacy insights are helping guide continued product improvements.
The company is also exploring a broader range of accessories to support the Elite II over time, including grinders, filling tools, coloured silicone sleeves and alternative carry cases.
These additions are intended to make preparation, use, protection and transport more convenient while giving patients greater choice.
Looking ahead, Mood State Medical is continuing to progress its European regulatory documentation as part of its broader international growth strategy.
The company is also developing a wider portfolio of vaporisation devices designed to build on the Elite II platform and meet a broader range of patient needs.
With encouraging early sales, strong customer feedback and dedicated Australian-based support, Bennett said Mood State Medical is well positioned to expand the Elite II’s pharmacy presence and help more patients access a comprehensively assessed, ARTG-included vaporiser.
At the same time, continued investment in accessories, European regulatory progress and a wider device portfolio provide a strong platform for sustainable growth.
“The ELITE II is an approved device for a growing patient category, and we are committed to giving pharmacies the products, flexibility and local support they need to serve that demand with confidence,” Bennett said.
