Montu has appointed Myles Lawlor as its inaugural chief executive, a move the firm said would strengthen operational leadership, governance, and innovation in patient-centred care.

Lawlor joined Montu in 2023 and brings more than two decades of executive experience across health, technology and consumer sectors, including leadership roles with IBM, Fujitsu, Deloitte, BHP and YouFoodz.

Most recently, he led clinical operations at Alternaleaf – Montu’s national telehealth service. His role will now expand to include all of the firm’s Australian operations.

“It is a privilege to lead Montu Australia,” Lawlor said.

“My focus will be on maintaining trust, stability and the highest clinical standards,
ensuring patients continue to receive quality care wherever they live.

“Montu’s reputation for innovation is one of its greatest strengths, and I’m committed
to building on that foundation for the benefit of both patients and clinicians.”

Montu founder and chair Christopher Strauch said the appointment reflected Lawlor’s ability to “translate complex technology into meaningful clinical outcomes”.

“He combines a deep understanding of healthcare systems with the rigour and precision of a technology leader – qualities that are essential as Montu continues to evolve as a patient-centred health-tech company,” he said.

Lawler will report to Strauch.
