A team from Montu will scale the country’s highest peak in March as they join the annual effort to raise funds – and awareness – for those struck down by rare forms of cancer.
Staff members will don their walking boots as part of the 2025 Kosi Challenge, a fundraising event run by Rare Cancers Australia (RCA) which sees participants climb 2,228-metre Mount Kosciuszko.

Now in its 13th year, the event aims to support those impacted by less common cancers.
According to RCA, while 25% of cancer diagnoses are for rare forms of the disease, they account for more than half of cancer deaths.
Montu vice president of patient advocacy and corporate affairs, Jodie Thomas, said: “This climb is about more than reaching the summit. It’s about raising awareness and giving a voice to those whose stories often go unheard.
“We’re proud to partner with Rare Cancers Australia on this important initiative.

“Joining the Kosi Challenge is a tangible way for us to show our solidarity with people facing extraordinary health challenges.”
Since its inception in 2013, the Kosi Challenge has raised $4.6m to fund research, advocacy efforts, and support services for those living with rare cancers.
The Montu team will share their journeys in the lead-up to the event on LinkedIn, shining a light on the personal motivations that fuel their climb.
Donations can be made directly to Rare Cancers Australia via the Montu Mountaineers team page.
