Medicinal cannabis provider Montu has launched a patient-focused version of its online platform in a move to further streamline access to medication.

The company, which completed a record-breaking crowdfunding equity raise late last year, has expanded its Circuit platform to provide patients with clearer oversight of their treatment plan.

Christopher Strauch: natural evolution

Circuit was initially rolled out to medical professionals last year to enable Montu’s network of Australian doctors to more effectively manage prescriptions.

The consumer version was described as a “one-stop-shop” with patients given personalised access to refill and consultation management features and provided with details of Montu’s products and education material.

Patients will be able to log in and view customised selections of cannabis products based on the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) categorisation.

“The Circuit patient portal was a natural evolution for Montu as it aligns to our patient-centric approach,” managing director Christopher Strauch said. “We are bringing together the best in cannabis care with the technological infrastructure to support a seamless patient experience.”

Strauch said the business was responding to the new TGA regulations where Special Access Scheme approvals are based on active ingredients.

“This fundamental regulatory change will improve patient access to medical cannabis and we are building systems to support this framework shift,” he said.

“This is just the beginning for patients as we plan to continuously expand the Circuit offering. We are listening closely to our patients’ feedback and have several additional features already in our roadmap for the coming months.”
