Nimbin Hemp Embassy is running the latest iteration of its Medican event on Saturday February 25 to coincide with Medicinal Cannabis Awareness Week.

The speaker line up features Dean of Law at Southern Cross University David Heilpern, nurse and medicinal cannabis advocate Debbie Ranson, CDA Health co-founder Dr Ben Jansen, compounding chemist Des Harp, newly elected Legalise Cannabis Victoria MP Rachel Payne and Marc Selan from the Barcelona Cannabis Club.

Ranson’s session will explain how medicinal cannabis works and what patients and clinicians need to know about it for their personal use and professional practice while Jansen’s focus is on the neuroprotective qualities of cannabinoids.

Meanwhile, Selan will tell the story of his eight years running a cannabis club in Barcelona and the lessons for Australia in how a legal market can work effectively.

Medican will take place at the Bush Theatre from 10.30am NSW time. For more information, email head@hempembassy.net.
