Little Green Pharma chief executive Paul Long has joined the board of Medicinal Cannabis Industry Australia, filling the vacancy left by Carol Ireland who stepped down in June.

MCIA described Long as a “forward thinking leader and a great asset to the board”.

“Paul’s proven leadership and commitment to the global medicinal cannabis industry make him an ideal addition to the board,” MCIA chairman Kristin Viccars said.

“We are confident that he will build upon the MCIA’s strong foundation and further enhance its impact on the industry.”

Ireland, the chief executive of Epilepsy Action Australia, stepped down from the board after a six month stint as chairwoman.

Also on the board are Altum International CEO Ean Alexander, ANTG CEO and founder Matt Cantelo, Cannatrek general manager of product and industry development Phoebe Macleod, Vitura Health CEO Geoff Cockerill and Corporate Affairs Advisory managing director Justin Howden.

MCIA hosts the ACannabis event in Melbourne next week.
