Legalise Cannabis Victoria MP Rachel Payne has accused the state government of lacking courage on cannabis reform, saying it had “shut the door” on evidence-based lawmaking to avoid appearing soft on crime ahead of next year’s election.
Speaking to Cannabiz following Labor’s rejection of all recommendations from a cross-party parliamentary inquiry into the Regulation of Personal Adult Use of Cannabis Bill, Payne said the decision was “deeply disappointing” given the collaborative process behind the report.
