The trade association response to potential reforms of medicinal cannabis regulation was only the “end of the beginning” of lobbying efforts, one of the submission’s authors has said, as he confirmed the Australian Medical Association has rejected calls to open dialogue with the industry.
Government relations specialist and Medicinal Cannabis Industry Australia board member Justin Howden said efforts to engage with health officials on behalf of patients and the wider sector will continue in the months before reform proposals are tabled by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA).
