Australia’s medicinal cannabis trade associations have urged the country’s leading medical bodies to “lean in” to the treatment and not write it off because of the behaviour of a few “bad actors”.

The calls came after the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) and the Australian Medical Association (AMA) claimed medicinal cannabis telehealth providers are poorly regulated and some put profits before patient care, while also casting doubt over the efficacy of the medicine.
