Helius Therapeutics recently held an educational event attended by more than 40 pharmacists in collaboration with Auckland’s East Health Trust.
Hosted at the New Zealand firm’s EU-GMP and GACP-certified facility, the event sought to provide pharmacists with the knowledge, and confidence, to ensure positive outcomes when dispensing, and counselling patients about, medicinal cannabis.
Attendee Vicky Chan said: “Even as a pharmacist, the world of medicinal cannabis can be overwhelming and confusing. By providing educational resources tailored to the NZ context, Helius helps healthcare providers empower their patients to make informed decisions about their health.”
East Health Trust is responsible for providing primary healthcare services to more than 120,000 enrolled members across East Auckland.
Helius is planning to host more events for healthcare professionals in the coming months.
