Current research projects include patients’ experiences of the therapeutic use of cannabis, documenting the experiences of those with drug-related convictions, and critically exploring the concept of intoxication and how the intoxication practices of diverse groups are experienced and responded to.

Cannabiz co-founder and chief growth officer Martin Lane said: “Fiona is a true expert in her field and we are delighted to welcome her to the judging panel. We’re very grateful to all our judges for giving up their time to recognise the outstanding work being done in the industry.

“We are also very grateful to our new sponsor, MedTEC Pharma – and to all our commercial partners, without whom the awards wouldn’t happen.”

The Cannabiz Awards 2024 are sponsored by Somai Pharmaceuticals, Pharmalytics, CMI Safe Company, The Entourage Effect, MedTEC Pharma, Oz Medicann Group, MediGreen, MCC, Traad and Judo Bank, with support from MCIA, AMCA and ETAA.

This year, judging will take place in two stages, with jurors reviewing the entries in the categories they are judging in stage one and selecting a shortlist. In the second stage, each jury will meet on a video call to discuss the shortlist before independently casting their votes for the winner.

The shortlist will be announced on April 18 with the awards presentation taking place at Zinc, Federation Square, Melbourne on May 30.

The first entry deadline for the awards is fast approaching, with savings of A$50 per entry available until March 15.
