Australia’s cannabis producers have received a leg-up from the Federal Government after legislation to certify the export of narcotic goods, including hemp and medicinal cannabis, passed through the house on Wednesday (June 17).

The move gives farmers access to lucrative new markets including South East Asia, China, Canada and the US and helps producers export to countries that need government approval.

Agriculture Minister David Littleproud said: “This bill will enable agricultural industries to come out firing after the threat of COVID-19 has passed.”
