Emyria has added a second suite of Emerald Clinics consulting rooms at West Leederville Private Hospital in Perth on the back of continued appointment growth nationally.

The move has the potential to double the company’s capacity in Perth and support planned clinical trials of its first drug program EMD-003, targeting unmet needs in mental health and seeking registration as a Schedule 3 medicine.

The move comes after Emyria added a second site in Melbourne in February.

Emyria managing director Dr Michael Winlo said: “Western Australia was the first Emerald Clinics location. Demand for our services from both patients and referring doctors has grown every month since we opened.

“We anticipate this expansion will allow us to improve our waiting times and see more patients which, in turn, improves our proprietary data asset, Emyria Data.”

He added the move will help the company deliver on a recently awarded A$880,000 grant from the WA Government, won with research partner the University of Western Australia.

Emyria’s technology and team will play a lead role in monitoring the clinical and mental health of vulnerable patients remotely.
