Biortica Agrimed is shipping 18 new genetics to Australia next week, bringing the total number of new varieties the firm has introduced to the country to 49.

CEO Tom Varga said the firm’s investment in Canadian genetics business Apollo Green was beginning to pay off.

“We’ve always believed that to produce the very best medicinal cannabis you have to grow the very best plants… [and the way to do that] is to first invest in the best genetics.”

He added: “Our investment in Apollo Green… is now really beginning to deliver. International enquiries are increasing significantly, however the Australian industry, and Australian patients, will always be a key focus for Biortica.”
