Canopy Growth APAC boss Ben Quirin has quit the company after four years but vowed to continue the fight “to bring an end to prohibition”.
Quirin joined Canopy as regional managing director at the end of 2017 and has overseen the growth of Spectrum and Storz & Bickel in the local market.
Announcing his departure on LinkedIn, Quirin said: “After much consideration I made the decision to resign from my position of Regional Managing Director at Canopy Growth.
“Four years ago it was a blank canvas and today we have established a strong foundation to support medical cannabis patients in Australia and New Zealand through our medical brands Spectrum, Tweed Medical and S&B Medic.
“I will remain committed to making sure patient access is a reality and that we do bring an end to prohibition, putting in place a framework that provides consumers with safe access to quality products and education.”
Quirin said he will reveal “more details” after Christmas.
UPDATE (January 13, 2022): Lorenzo Petroro has stepped into the role of interim country manager, Canopy Growth APAC, following Quirin’s departure.
