Cannabiz has appointed Ashleigh Oliver to the key role of operations manager as the company plots further expansion in FY24.

Oliver has enjoyed an impressive career in business operations including roles as general manager/2ic of training and events company Dent Global and office manager/executive assistant to Mia Freedman, founder of Mamamia Women’s Network.

She also worked with Cannabiz co-founder Martin Lane as business administration manager of publishing and events company Mumbrella from 2017 to 2020.

As well as day-to-day operations, Oliver will manage the development of new products and build out our offering to Premium members.

She steps into the position as Stephanie Chandra departs after three years to take on a new role as consulting partner at 113 Partners and senior accountant at Buckley Brown.

Lane said: “We’re very sorry to lose Steph, who has been with us since the beginning and done an amazing job in getting us to where we are now.

“But I’m delighted to welcome Ash to the fold. We could never have built Mumbrella into the business it became without her and she will be such an asset to the Cannabiz team.

“Plus we’ve worked together before, so she knows what she’s getting into.”

Oliver added: “It’s been so exciting watching the Cannabiz journey from afar and I’m looking forward to doing my part in helping take the business – and the industry – to the next level.”

Cannabiz launched its inaugural awards program in FY23, with plans to further develop its events portfolio and other member services in FY24 and beyond. Partnerships manager Denise Fletcher joined in March.
