Cannabiz editor-at-large Rhys Cohen is joining Cann Group in the newly created role of senior corporate communications manager next month.

Cohen joined Cannabiz in September 2020 and writes regular opinion pieces and analysis. He will continue to contribute to the site on an ad hoc basis.

As well as his role with Cannabiz, Cohen sits on the non-executive advisory board of the Lambert Initiative for Cannabinoid Therapeutics at the University of Sydney and consults to the medicinal cannabis industry.

Cannabiz co-founder and chief growth officer Martin Lane said: “Rhys has been instrumental in helping build Cannabiz into the industry’s leading B2B media platform. 

“I couldn’t be more delighted that he’s found a role with Cann Group, a company he has always respected and which will benefit enormously from his integrity, intelligence and industry insights.”

Cohen said: “I’ve loved honing my media skills with Cannabiz, and seeing it grow into the trusted authority it is today. I can’t wait to put those skills to use, working in a key communications role for Cann as it scales its operations in Australia and overseas.”
