The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has recommended that the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) reclassify cannabis as a lower-risk drug.
In a letter to the DEA last week, the HHS said cannabis should be reclassified from Schedule 1 – drugs with no medically accepted use and a high potential for abuse – to Schedule III – those with a moderate-to-low potential for physical and psychological dependence.
