The Australian Medicinal Cannabis Association (AMCA) and Medicinal Cannabis Industry Australia (MCIA) have confirmed their merger will be completed this week, with the new body, Medicinal Cannabis Council Australia (MCCA), set to appoint a full-time chief executive.
Speaking at the opening of the AMCA UIC Conference 2026 in Brisbane, AMCA chair Teresa Nicoletti said the two organisations had been operating “effectively as one” since the signing of a deed of merger just before Christmas.
