Renowned marketing and advertising specialist Adam Ferrier has joined the line up at next month’s ACannabis conference where he will explore the reputational issues facing the medicinal cannabis industry.

Ferrier, who began his career in forensic psychology before co-founding two of Australia’s most recognised advertising agencies, Naked and Tinkerbell, will deliver a keynote presentation followed by a Q&A with Cannabiz co-founder Martin Lane.

Ferrier will analyse whether the industry is in a reputation management phase, or one in crisis management, and explain the difference between the two.

His will deliver the presentation at Melbourne’s Crown Promenade on Tuesday August 11.

In addition to his agency work, Ferrier is the author of two books The Advertising Effect and Stop Listening to the Customer, and is a regular media commentator on Sunrise and Gruen.

The addition of Ferrier further bolsters a program that, over three days, will hear from regulators, business leaders, cultivators, pharmacists, researchers and policy experts as the industry steers a path through the choppy waters of intense competition, regulatory oversight and potential reform.

The opening advisory and compliance day, on August 10, will feature three steams focusing on business leadership, manufacturing and cultivation with a range of topics being discussed including mergers and acquisitions, risk management and product testing,

Days two and three will also explore key issues facing the sector and include data insights, lessons medicinal cannabis can learn from other regulated industries and an executive round table exploring the next five years of medicinal cannabis in Australia.
