A ‘Be Low-Dose CBD Ready’ webinar will take place for community pharmacists across Australia on November 23.
The event — a collaboration between the Lambert Initiative for Cannabinoid Therapeutics, the Pharmacy Guild Learning and Development Team (GuildEd) and the University of Sydney School of Pharmacy — aims to provide pharmacists with the resources needed to manage low-dose CBD product requests once they become available following down-scheduling.
Experts across academia, cannabinoid therapeutics and community pharmacy will discuss what is known about the medicine, best practice, and the expectations and obligations of community pharmacists.
Participants include The Lambert Initiative for Cannabinoid Therapeutics academic director and Professor of psychopharmacology Iain McGregor, University of Sydney head of school and dean (Sydney Pharmacy School) Professor Andrew McLachlan and Astrid Dispensary founder and pharmacist Lisa Nguyen.
The webinar will also incorporate a research project ‘the community pharmacists and cannabidiol (CBD) online survey’ to help clarify pharmacists’ knowledge, experiences, and beliefs in relation to medicinal cannabis.
The survey will enable attendees to submit questions to the panel prior to the event.
Pharmacists are able to earn continuing professional development (CPD) points for their participation in the pre-work survey, the live webinar and CPD questionnaire.
