Medicinal cannabis telehealth provider Polln has launched, pledging to deliver in-depth video consults from experienced clinicians for A$110.

Founders Chris Nasr and Grace Tan said the firm’s online model would make medicinal cannabis more accessible to those in need, ease fears around judgement and help break down the stigma associated with the medicine.

They added: “When building Polln, the most important thing to us was to build an accessible and affordable care model where patients could get the treatments they needed – wherever they may be. For us that meant in-depth video consults that patients could comfortably access in their own home.”

To apply for treatment, users must sign up as a patient before accessing a personalised dashboard where they can make bookings, attend video consultations and view prescriptions.

Once signed up, the patient will be required to book an initial 30-minute, one-on-one consultation with a cannabis clinician who will review their medical history to determine their suitability for treatment.

Polln said it has “chosen to only work with doctors who are aligned with [our] patient-first approach”.

If a patient is deemed suitable for a prescription, they will be able to access their e-script via their dashboard. All pharmacy dispensing is done by the Polln team, who will express deliver medicine to the patient’s home.

A dedicated care team will provide ongoing support, the firm said.

Polln claimed its price guarantee will ensure patients are never charged above recommended retail price for their medication or any additional dispensing fees. A 30-minute video consultation and ongoing care team support costs A$110.

Nasr and Tan added: “We’re building a future for healthcare that is tech-driven with a patient focus… We’re on a mission to improve not only the health outcomes of our patients, but the way they access their health services Australia-wide.”
