Kristin Viccars has been a key figure in Australia’s medical cannabis industry since 2018. He initially supported MedReleaf Australia’s rapid growth as chief operating officer before stepping into the role of interim managing director to support Aurora’s acquisition efforts to complete the integration of the two businesses. 

Today, Kristin is the chief executive officer at Alma, a fast-growing local Australian business and is responsible for helping drive the company’s vision, operations and forward strategy. 

Kristin is the previous legacy chair of Medical Cannabis Industry Australia (MCIA) and current co-chair of the newly formed Medicinal Cannabis Council Australia, having recently merged MCIA with the Australian Medical Cannabis Association.  

With an Executive MBA from Bond University, a Business Law degree from the University of Sydney and a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Kristin brings a wealth of experience in executive leadership and navigating organisational change. While he values his education, Kristin is a firm believer in learning by doing and transforming ideas into meaningful action and outcomes.

Passionate about improving patient access, education, and fostering greater collaboration between industry, government, and healthcare professionals, Kristin plays a pivotal role in driving positive change across the medical cannabis sector. His leadership is focused on creating lasting impacts that enhance the industry’s growth and most importantly, positive patient outcomes.
