Professor Jonathon Arnold is deputy academic director at the Lambert Initiative for Cannabinoid Therapeutics, which specialises in the discovery and development of cannabis-based medicines.

Jonathon has published over 150 research papers on cannabis and the cannabinoids, with over 8,500 career citations. He is ranked in the top 2% of scientists in the world (Stanford University/Elsevier).

He leads various projects which examine the efficacy of cannabinoids in preclinical models of disease including epilepsy, sleep, cancer and PTSD. In addition, his research explores the role of the endocannabinoid system in various diseases. He also leads a program of research examining the effects of cannabinoids on healthy ageing.

He has provided expert advice on cannabis and the cannabinoids to the ACT Legislative Assembly, Medicinal Cannabis Industry Australia, Haleon, Food Standards Australia New Zealand and the World Health Organisation.
