

Hannah Adler
Hannah Adler is a lecturer in communication and member of the Centre of Social and Cultural Research at Griffith University. She is an interdisciplinary scholar working across health communication and health sociology, with a specific focus on research concerned with medicinal cannabis.
In her PhD thesis Hannah explored news media reporting of medicinal cannabis and the impact this has for doctors and users in Australia. Utilising mixed methods, this body of research presented a case study into the mediatisation of medicinal cannabis in the era of legalisation.
Outside of her doctoral project Hannah has completed a variety of research projects focused on medicinal cannabis including those published in prestigious peer-reviewed journals.
Prior to undertaking her doctorate Hannah received a first class honours in communication from Griffith University. Her thesis investigated the strategic communication strategies used by key activists in the lobbying for medicinal cannabis in Australia. She has also worked professionally in the space with a background in professional communication and journalism, including a stint as editorial coordinator for Cannabiz.
