Gail Wiseman is the general manager of AMCA, the Australian Medicinal Cannabis Association. She has a long history in pharmaceuticals, starting in the UK as a medical representative and transitioning to marketing in Dubai where she worked for Novartis for eight years.

She emigrated to Australia in 2000, after being offered a move with Novartis to launch Glivec, the first tyrosine kinase inhibitor for chronic myeloid leukaemia.

Gail worked for Janssen for a further 10 years, including a four-year stint as regional oncology marketing lead for the Asia Pacific region. Roles as head of sales and marketing for Astellas Australia and national sales manager for Bayer followed, before she took early retirement to look after her ageing parents.

She met Dr Teresa Nicoletti during her time with Astellas and, after a brief time as general manager for the Medical Cannabis Council, supported Teresa and Lucy Haslam to form AMCA in mid-2020.

Gail has a Dutch husband, Ad, and a 14-year old son, Sam. She loves the flexibility of her role and the opportunity to provide support for such a wide range of members, as well as advocating for the breadth of the sector.

She was delighted to be invited to be a judge for the Cannabiz Awards.
