Dr Joel Wren is an independent GP working in Southern Adelaide, seeing patients locally and Australia-wide via telehealth. First prescribing medicinal cannabis in 2019, Joel has become a strong advocate for the industry within Australia and internationally.

Presenting on behalf of the Society of Cannabis Clinicians for the 2020 Commission on Narcotic Drugs during their discussions on proposed scheduling changes of cannabis products, Joel then became a foundational member for the SCC’s Australian Chapter.

He is now the current president of the SCCAC, and has lobbied state governments on behalf of Drive Change and patients nationwide.

When not working, he's looking after his three dogs and advocating for animal welfare - understanding that their journey can be as important and complicated as our own.
