Graduating from university with a bachelor of science, Clare started her career at CSL with a three-month contract in the influenza manufacturing department, primarily washing equipment. Almost 20 years later, she left as part of the executive leadership team after gaining local and global experience in the areas of manufacturing, quality, and corporate governance.

Throughout this time, she faced many challenges and led many successful teams that ultimately had a positive impact on patients’ lives.

Clare transitioned from sterile injectables into the complementary medicines space where she was responsible for end-to-end (manufacturing to sales and marketing) with Australian company Nutrition Care Pharmaceuticals. It was here that she moved into a business development role exploring the possibilities for medicinal cannabis in Australia.

Medicinal cannabis was instantly fascinating to Clare, from the incredible impact it can have on patients’ lives and the opportunity to be a part of developing the industry in Australia, through to the education of healthcare professionals and working to develop and evolve the regulations, guidelines and practices to supply high-quality medicines. Clare worked with a doctor in Victoria to write, submit and gain approval from NIIM HREC and the TGA to be the first Authorised Prescriber in Australia.

Clare is extremely proud to have created and built the medicinal cannabis company Entoura from the initial brand creation and educational focus, to the steady introduction of high-quality products both from overseas and Australia, as well as contributing to the research space with a published clinical trial.

Clare became a medicinal cannabis patient, initially using CBD oil, adding other dosage forms including vaporising dried flower as her medical treatment indicated. Clare currently provides consulting services to local and overseas medicinal cannabis companies covering areas such as market intelligence, company structure and governance, compliance and market entry.

Clare is excited to be able to operate in the dynamic space of medicinal cannabis and gets goosebumps each time she is told a story of how a patient’s quality of life has improved, often dramatically, by using it.
