Medigrowth has joined forces with Chronic Pain Australia in a partnership that will unravel the mysteries of medicinal cannabis and address questions people are often “too afraid to ask”.

The company has created a series of videos for a national campaign designed to raise awareness of chronic pain and champion the needs of the 5.4 million Australians who live with the condition.

The videos form part of Medigrowth’s sponsorship of National Pain Week which runs from July 26 to 31.

The campaign, Pain Lives Here, will also feature an in-depth conversation about women’s health where Medigrowth director of healthcare partnerships and clinical innovation Melanie Wentzel and Chronic Pain Australia general manager Kellie Jade Ellis will discuss healthcare leadership and Ellis’s journey with endometriosis.

The campaign follows on from Chronic Pain Australia’s 2025 national pain survey which showed 31% of respondents had accessed medicinal cannabis as part of their pain management strategy, up from 28% in 2024.

In addition, nearly 28% said they would like to or intend to try medicinal cannabis to combat their pain.

Among the questions the content series will address are what medicinal cannabis involves, whether patients get high, and, fundamentally, whether it will work.

Medigrowth chief executive Adam Guskich said the sponsorship reflected its commitment to improving outcomes for people living with chronic pain.

“Chronic pain touches so many Australians, yet cannabinoid therapeutics remain widely misunderstood as a treatment option,” he said. “As gold sponsor of National Pain Week, we’re proud to stand alongside Chronic Pain Australia to answer the questions people are often too afraid to ask, and to help ensure everyone living with pain has access to the information and support they need.”

Ellis described partnerships such as those with Medigrowth as vital to the success of National Pain Week.

Medigrowth CEO Adam Guskich: ‘Medicinal cannabis is widely misunderstood’

“Every year, sponsors like Medigrowth help us reach more Australians living with pain, amplify their voices, and push for pain to be recognised as a national health priority area,” she said.

Medigrowth will also sponsor the 2026 national pain report.
